The Dawn of a New Era

  • Founded in 1968, Italdesign is one of the most recognisable names in Italian industrial design, bringing together engineering, vision and a strong design culture. In 2020, the company was navigating a dual transition: the reorganisation of its workplace and a broader rethink of its internal setup. In this context, Il Prisma, leading the workplace redesign, asked REMIDA to read that transition through a management lens, in order to clarify critical issues and unfold a new strategic direction.

    FRAMING THE CHALLENGE.
We needed to redefine how a complex organisation should reinforce the relationship between people, leadership, space and company culture at a moment when previous reference points had suddenly lost stability. What was needed was a close reading of the operational structure, capable of turning perceptions, priorities and emerging tensions into a solid basis for guiding change.

    SETTING THE DIRECTION.
REMIDA addressed this turning point through a first qualitative assessment focused on the C-level. The goal was not to produce a simple narrative report, but to build an executive-level understanding of the moment: uncovering how management was interpreting the new scenario, which critical issues had emerged, which opportunities were opening up, and what language was needed to make the change easier to steer. In that context, strategic direction meant turning complexity into clarity.

    DOING THE WORK.
The project then unfolded across three phases. The first was an analysis of the organisational context and a qualitative benchmarking exercise to frame the situation within the broader contemporary landscape. The second consisted of in-depth one-to-one interviews with the CEO, Marketing and HR teams, to gather first-hand views, frictions and expectations. The third led to the creation of an executive playbook, where the insights were distilled into a clear, immediately usable document to support the ongoing transformation.

    Qualitative Executive Assessment

A strategic audit focused on the C-level, identifying critical issues, areas of alignment and strategic priorities during the transition towards the new landscape.

    One-to-One Leadership Interviews

In-depth semi-structured interviews with the CEO, Marketing and HR managers, conducted to capture the management's view on the organisational change underway.

    Executive Playbook

An executive synthesis and guidance document designed to turn the findings into a clear and operational plan.

    IMPACT.
In a moment marked by uncertainty and the need to rethink the very nature of work, the project helped management gain greater clarity on the changes underway and set a more stable direction for the transformation. Despite the pressures of the period, the organisation reached €220 million in revenue in 2021–2022, returning to pre-pandemic levels and surpassing them in 2023–2024.

It felt like a pivotal moment. So we pivoted.
